Marketing Objectives

  • 1.Have 20% more people playing my new game.

In my last game had 4 people playing my game. My previous game was not marketed and I hope to market this one more widely. I am aiming for at least 20 people to play my game and leave feedback.

  • 2.Making sure my target audience is relevant when marketing

The age range for this game is 12-18 years old so when developing my marketing strategy, I will look at what will be the best media to use to reach this audience. I will probably look particularly at using YouTube and TikTok as these are media commonly used by this age group. I will make sure all marketing takes account of all aspects of diversity. (Kosaka, 2018), (Wakefield, 2019)

  • 3.To become better known in the indie game community.

I will do this by doing a blog post and putting it on Itch.io.  The game will also be available on Itch.io to play and ask players to leave feedback. I will be making a portfolio of work that I have created, including a showreel, and will have this on my website. Links will be inserted to the website in all marketing material. I will also review my personal use of various social media platforms to maximise the impact they might have in marketing my products. (Kosaka, 2018), (Wakefield, 2019)
